It is a bit longer route but beautiful. It starts from the western part of the mountain at the Londorossi Gate, this route is an alternative to the Shira route. You will pass by the beautiful forest and moorland as well as its crosses the Shira plateau and get connected with the Machame route at Lava tower.

You will cross many streams and walk over a plateau that leads to Shira 2 Camp (3840m). At this campsite, you will be next to a stream and have a spectacular view of the Western Breach and its glaciers in the East.

The Machame route, also known as the Whisky Route is one of the most scenics and recommended routes on Kilimanjaro. This popular route with paths through magnificent forests to gain a ridge leading through the moorland zones to the Shira Plateau. It then traverses beneath the glaciated precipices of the Southern Ice fields to join the Barafu Route to the summit. Because it can be done over longer periods and the incline is more manageable it has a much higher success rate to the summit.

5 Days Climb Kilimanjaro Marangu Route – the Marangu route also known as “Coca-Cola” – is the most famous route amongst other Kilimanjaro routes. It is unique and has permanent huts which provides extra comfort. Magnificent view of Kilimanjaro volcanic cones Mawenzi and Kibo are an added view of the Marangu route!
